Serial Drama China Star of Ocean berkisah seorang anak yatim piatu yang bernama Jane Xiao Ai terpaksa putus sekolah karena kemiskinan keluarganya dan pindah ke Guangzhou untuk bekerja. Di Guangzhou, ia bekerja sebagai pekerja restoran kecil dan gadis teh di sebuah perusahaan perdagangan luar negeri.
Dengan kepandaian, kebaikan, dan semangat juangnya yang berani, ia telah tumbuh menjadi pedagang perdagangan luar negeri dan manajer bisnis yang luar biasa. Namun Jane Xiao Ai tidak puas dengan lompatan identitas yang telah diraihnya. Setelah beberapa kemunduran, ia mendirikan perusahaan perdagangan luar negerinya sendiri.
